Once upon a time, I was advised that becoming a children's book illustrator was no way to earn a living because it's low-paid, self-indulgent, and not a credible and stable profession even though it's highly skilled. Well, it turns out much of this is true.

Yet despite this, here I am, Tim Wesson, a children's book illustrator. It's the only job I ever wanted. I feel lucky to work with major publishers and other clients. My work is published worldwide. I've performed in schools and book fairs like The Haye Festival and Edinburgh Book Festival. I feel grateful I can draw all day at home and hang out with my lovely family.
